2.17.2010 - FRF and DC Burn Foundation are proud to announce their New Partnership:

The Friends of Rigby Foundation, Inc. (FRF) has joined forces with the D.C. Firefighters Burn Foundation to promote fire safety and awareness on college campuses across the country. This new partnership represents a critical step towards meeting our primary objective: to build a connection between local firefighters and college students to provide such necessities as fire inspections, smoke detectors, and fire extinguishers in order to promote and increase fire safety.

On February 17th, 2010, FRF trustees and Georgetown University students from the Run4Rigby committee teamed up with Jason Woods, President of the DC Burn Foundation and a group of passionate nurses, physical therapists and researchers from The Burn Center at Washington Hospital Center, to discuss our similar missions and explore potential ways to better achieve the short- and long-term goals of each foundation. As a result, Jason and his dedicated team generously agreed to participate in the Run4Rigby along with a dozen or so firefighters, nurses and physical therapists from The Burn Center. The Run4Rigby will be held on Saturday, April 10th, 2010 at Georgetown University.

The camp offers a variety of activities including swimming, boating, archery, high ropes courses, firefighter games, and arts and crafts. The DC Burn Foundation offers this program to any young burn survivor ages 8-18 in the Washington Metropolitan Area at no cost.
